Dear Jackson,

Happy Thanksgiving!! It has been one ridiculous week!  You have had a cold all week and then to top it off today you got the flu.  You have been feeling really miserable and then were throwing up today.  It is so painful to watch you feel so bad.  We did get to skype with most of our family today so that was nice.  We got to drool over what they were having, while we had frozen pizza.

But Thanksgiving is not about the food, and we're so thankful each and every day for you.  You have been the best thing to happen to us and make our lives so happy.  We love you so much.

Dear Jackson,

We have had a great week with Grandma here, hard to believe she has already gone back home today.  We thought you might be a little shy with her since it has been since May since you have seen her, but it didn't matter at all.  You had her playing with tractors and reading you the same books over and over.  I think she loved it and so did we.  Now only 3 months until we see her again.

We did a lot of shopping while she was here and we put up our little Christmas tree too.  Grandma had brought our presents so we thought it would be fun to have the tree even though it is a little early.  You were so excited to help decorate the tree and you even tried putting your trains in the tree.

It was so nice for you to be able to spend some time with Grandma and I think we're all ready for us to move back to Iowa.

Dear Jackson,

We have had a good weekend with Grandma Chris so far!! Friday you were just so happy and I think you were showing off for Grandma.  :)

Saturday we went with all your little friends to Sea Life in Oberhausen, Germany.  We had a really good time and your favorite fish was the sea horse.  You kept saying neigh to it.  It was cute.  We were there quite a while with Liam, Abby, Ryan, CoCo and Kaelen.  You all had such a great time, it was fun to be with them all and for Grandma to see your friends.

Today was a quiet day at home but then tonight we went into Eindhoven for dinner at Usine.  It is in an old Philips building and is really a nice fun restaurant.  You shared some of our pasta, hamburgers, bread, french fries. I think you had a good time and then you got to have ice cream for dessert.  You even discovered that you love double stuffed oreos almost as much as I do!

It was a great weekend, and we are looking forward to the week with Grandma.

Dear Jackson,

Today we had Liam and Jessica over to play.  We walked down to our shopping center and Jessica and I got some jewelry that was on sale and you boys talked back and forth in the strollers.

So I'm so excited to tell you that you're going to be a big brother.  We just found out today that I am pregnant.  Only 4 weeks along so we're not telling anyone yet. Not even your grandma who is arriving tomorrow to see us.  I think you're going to be such a great big brother and you will love having someone to play with all the time.  That is all for tonight.

Dear Jackson,

Today we went over to Liam's house.  Abby was there also and you guys were running around the furniture having a great time.  Liam pushed you around in a shopping cart and you were both having a great time!  It was so nice to see them after they were all sick last week.

We found out today that our official move date to the U.S is February 20th.  I'm so excited for you to be able to see all your grandparents and meet all your friends back home.  It will just be so hard for you to understand that you won't see Liam anymore.  That will make me sad!

Dear Jackson,

Today is election day back in the U.S,  your daddy and I have always voted but this year we didn't get our absentee ballots done in time.  Hopefully we will agree with the outcome!

Today you got your second ever haircut.  You did just as well as the first time, sitting perfectly still.  I was so impressed.  We walked the 2 blocks there and back and you picked up leaves and were playing with the bushes along the way.  You daddy and I were just saying how fun it is now that you are able to walk along with us.  It's not the fastest way to go but it is fun to let you be able to explore.

Tonight we just played at home and you were having a great time playing with your trains and tractors as always!  I did "superman" with you up on my feet tonight you thought it was so fun you wanted more until my legs got tired ;)

Dear Jackson,

Today we had a really good day.  We went to the gym and then over to your friend Abby's house.  You guys played really well and were hugging each other. We had a little lunch and then came home.  This afternoon you helped me while I chopped up the vegetables for dinner. You love to be in the kitchen with me.

Dear Jackson,

Today was just a quiet day at home. We have had a busy week of play dates and parties. So we just stayed home today, besides going to the gym.  I still can't believe some days how you are just so excited and happy to go and play in the day care area.  I'm sure it's just nice to be around some different kids.
